At Metko, our diverse fabrication and welding capabilities enables our team to be the one source for all your needs. Founded in 1971, we are proud to be family owned and operated. Three generations have forged Metko’s quality driven culture and will continue to provide innovation and direction to remain at the forefront of the industry for years to come.
In 1971, the original owner of Metko, David McCarthy, opened our doors as a small family business with only six employees. Metko started off producing a product line of feeders and conveyors to meet growing needs in the dairy industry. Always aiming towards the future, Metko continued its farm support products while beginning to realize their potential in the custom fabrication market. This new direction ushered in our first CNC machines. As the company continued to grow, we began to touch many industries, expanding our abilities and becoming noticed as a dependable quality fabricator.
In 1998, Michael McCarthy took over as CEO and focused the company on defined and reliable business processes which included achieving our ISO certification. This focus also included acquiring a series of industry firsts in technology to handle the wide variety of requirements customers were looking for.
As is the habit of future focused businesses, Michael and the growing team at Metko realized that their focus on technology, process, and innovation made them uniquely adept at manufacturing tanks. This would prove timely as the US tank market was hungry for consistent and quality tank manufacturers. Beginning in 2005, Metko answered that demand and began our Specialty Tank and Reservoir division producing very high quality and leak free tanks.
In 2014, Patrick McCarthy and Eric Burger, Michael’s son and son-in-law joined the team. Their goal is to continue to grow the company yet maintain the family values loved by the employees.
Between 2017 and 2018 a lot changed at Metko. We acquired more industry firsts in technology, expanded our production facility, re-certified our ISO, and introduced our Boot Camp training program for new employees.
In 2023, Patrick McCarthy and Eric Burger purchased Metko. Their goal is to continue Metko’s culture of being a premier employer, investing in technology and innovation, all while continuing to earn our customer’s trust and business, everyday.
Today we serve many industries including automotive, POP, health and fitness, agriculture, power, construction, and governmental.
From the beginning, we have been firm believers in technology and superior quality. Our innovation extends to our internal methods, equipment, and training to create efficiencies and cost savings that can be passed to our customers. Our approach has led to many industry firsts:
